Wilder Ways Festival 24 September Tap into your wilder self

Updated: Aug 31, 2023

This year our festival is the Wilder Ways Festival and will be celebration of how we can make the world around us wilder… and how we can bring some wildness into ourselves!

The line-up is looking… well… wild and includes:

Trails and walks around the Railway Land inviting you to explore

  • How to recreate some of the benefits of rewilding in small areas

  • The folklore and folk songs surrounding medicinal plants

  • Creating music from the sounds of nature

  • The wonderful wildlife on the Railway Land and how you can get involved with supporting it

An immersive, multi sensory installation inviting you to experience the richness of the ground beneath our feet

A series of BSL interpreted illustrated talks exploring the amazing world of fungi and mycelium, the lives of our Bronze Age ancestors and their spiritual connection to the land, and the role of soil in boosting biodiversity and combatting climate change

Readings from Wilder Journeys by Jennifer Brisk, and the opportunity to reflect on your own wild journeys – both inwards and outwards!

Musical, artistic and written word workshops exploring the wildness within us all

And of course all sorts of family activities, from arts and crafts to story telling and natural face painting (mainly mud)

There will also be the opportunity to share your ideas for plans to improve the entrance to the Railway Land through our Placemaking activity
