JUNIOR RANGERS
Free sessions for 10-13 year olds
Junior Rangers is our regular land care group for 10- 13 Year olds (school Years 6-8). They
meet every Saturday morning during term time and take on real tasks around the nature
reserve that benefit wildlife and people. There’s also time for exploring, and for nature
based games, crafts and more. Whatever the activity, the group is very much about making
new friends and having fun in nature.

Examples of things Junior Rangers may get up to include creating habitats for wildlife, using tools to cut and saw wood, designing, planting and tending wildflower beds, bushcraft, cutting back overgrown paths, pond dipping, making dead hedges, creating a giant group map of the reserve, and much more.
We provide transition activities for Junior Rangers who want to progress to NatureLinks, our main young peoples’ program for 14-25 year olds.
We currently provide this group FREE thanks to the generosity of the Sussex Community
Foundation.

Feedback from parents:
"Junior Rangers has been utterly transformative for our son. Junior Rangers is so welcoming, friendly and non-threatening. It has been ideal for him, offering just the right level of support and independence at the same time. This has been so fantastic for him and we have really seen the impact on his independence, social interaction and all-round well-being. I cannot emphasise enough what a difference it has made to him, every member of staff has been simply wonderful. THANK YOU."
"My daughter really loves her sessions with you. I see her time with Junior Rangers as vital for supporting her connection with nature and herself - supporting self-regulation, socialising in a low pressure environment and learning new skills. Thank you so much to all the brilliant team, and the funders, who make this possible!”
"What is better than making new friends and spending time in nature whilst also learning how to look after it?!"
