Nature Rangers

This group of adults with learning disabilities are, in the most, very familiar with the nature reserve and the Trust's work as they formed the Nature Corridors for All group that have met here regularly for many years and that are an integral part of the Trust's history.

Over the course of their tenure with us they will be undertaking a number of conservation and art based projects driven by their own ideas and feelings about the reserve.

One of their first tasks will be to drive forward the refurbishment of the interior of our Signal Box so that it once again becomes a focus for wildlife watching on the meadow compartments and river.

Although they only started to meet in September they have already done 2 days of practical conservation work with LDC Ranger Dan Fagan, cleaned the inside of the Signal Box with (lots of spiders and a hibernating butterflies were re-homed) and begun craft work with natural dyes and fibres under the guidance of local artist Caroline Fleming.
