December 2007
We were worried about a part of the coppice because the leaves were a different colour and the plants were shorter. So we tested the soil taken from two areas to see if it was different in any way. We used a liquid to test the pH but found that it was all the same - at pH 8.5.
We did notice though that the soil from where the short plants grow, was different in texture. It was water logged. We think this may be a reason why the plants are not doing so well.
